Bigger is SOOOO Meaty

Post by deltagal » Tue Aug 09, 2011 4:19 pm

We are on Unit 24 of Bigger with my 10 yo son. I remember so vividly when we began that I thought from time to time that it might be a bit light for him. And yet, I was so wrong. I continue to be surprised and delighted by the discussions and topics that the guide directs us towards. And in truth they are anything, but light. Even today I pulled my 14 yo to offer additional thoughts to the Bigger Heart's Bible discussion. The further we have journeyed in this guide the less of a rush I have been to move on to the next one. It is just enough and just perfect for my son. Who could ask for more?!

Thanks for posting this, Florence! I'm about to start Bigger with my son who just turned 10, and it's an encouragement to hear how meaty it is. I know that my son's not ready for Preparing and that Bigger is where he needs to be (with extensions), but it can be hard to be willing to place him in the upper age range of a guide. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thanks so much!!! :D
Blessings,
Elisabeth

Thanks for posting this! :) We were all set to go with Preparing for my younger son (9 1/2) this year, and then the more I looked at the two programs, the more I realized Bigger was just a better fit.

I agree--it can be hard to place kiddos at the upper age range for a guide, and it's such a nice confirmation that others are doing the same with great success and full years.

Thanks again! :)
