Do we need to order the ABA Guidebook for writing (for K and 1st) through their website? It covers all levels K-6. Do they not continue with this writing program after 1st Grade? They switch to something else?
Thanks for all the help! I am sure I will have a ton more questions as we go on.

What is ABA writing? We did LHFHG a couple of years ago and I don't recall any writing program that went with it.

Re: ABA Writting for K and 1st-Quick Question
Looking at the catalog now (pgs 22-23) and it says choose one handwriting book. The choices are "A Reason for Handwriting" (K or A) or Italic (A or B). The "A Reason for Handwriting" curriculum is made by A Beginning Advantage. Just so happen to have one of their catalogs here and have been on their website. They also have a spelling, reading, and science program. Anyway, I noticed that they have a guidebook that goes along with the writing program and was wondering if I need to order it as well or if the LHFHG guidebook will have the writing schedule and all the directions I need.

Re: ABA Writting for K and 1st-Quick Question
Oh, ok. When you said writing, I thought of composition not handwriting.
After the initial handwriting instruction in K/1st in LHFHG, copywork is utilized to strengthen handwriting starting in Beyond. Then in Bigger, a different program is used to introduce cursive writing. I really don't think you would need the teacher guide to go along with the workbook. We didn't use "A Reason For Handwriting" though since we were already part way through the Abeka handwriting program when we found HOD so we just finished that instead of switching.
