Would it be crazy to have my 9yo read her "Reading About History" selection to herself and then discuss it with her? Or have her reach it aloud to me?
I am adding more things for my 7yo and adding my 5yo into the schedule soon and I am trying to find time for it all.
What pros and cons do you see of doing it this way?

Re: Reading about history - read aloud?
I think CM said by 9 kids should read to themselves if they are able to. I've had my girls read their Science together when one of my tiny ones needs me. They narrate better when they do because they are "teaching" me.

Re: Reading about history - read aloud?
That's good to know. She is a very strong reader, which is why I was considering it. I'm thinking of having her do it while I am in the kitchen working a bit. If it is a quiet day then she can read aloud to me and if not she can read to herself and we'll talk about it later.
I was also thinking about Science on her own as well. Not the actual experiments but the reading. Then she could teach me as we do the experiment and explain it all to me.
Thanks!

Re: Reading about history - read aloud?
My daughter read many of hers herself and then we talked about it. It depended on the book and her work load. For CTC she would definitely be reading Storytime herself.
I've done all the guides now with at least one child and still feeling the HOD LOVE. LOL!
