End of Unit 2 update
End of Unit 2 update
So we've completed two weeks with LHFHG and I'm still excited so had to share.
We've had some very "not going as hoped or planned" days and school has still been doable (this is a big deal!). DS has shown marked improvement in cooperation. He knows when school is and he's been ready and waiting when the time comes (we've been waiting until the little ones go down for naps and it's been working perfectly). He's enjoying The Adventures of Reddy Fox. Storytime seems to be his favorite part. He has already made great improvement in his ability to respond to questions about what we've just read (and not just at Storytime). He loves the Rhymes in Motion too which actually took me by surprise to be honest.
I've been doing LHTH half speed and adding a little phonics and math for DD and she's loving her school time.
So yay I hope someone can share my joy with me. I promise I won't update again until at least the end of Unit 6.

I'm sharing in your joy here and so happy for you! That is very exciting that ds is already making good gains in answering questions - what a smart cookie! My dc loved Reddy Fox too, and I loved that the rhymes got their "wiggles" out while still reinforcing the history theme. Your little gal sounds like she's doing super with LHTH - way to go MOM! Here's an HOD high five!

I am SO excited for you too! I know what a big deal it is to find a curriculum that works when life throws you the curve balls that often abound in our day-to-day too! I am praising the Lord with you.
Thanks for sharing! You filled my cup tonight.
Blessings,
Carrie

Hooray! I'm sharing your joy too, we just finished our first week. I love the Rhymes In Motion in LHFHG, we actually miss that because my kids really do need the wiggle time (and it got my toddler involved too). Although the "exercise" Beyond has us doing while we recite memory verses is good too.
Keep on enjoying it! I have been telling people I am enjoying Homeschooling more than I ever thought i would. I know HOD is partly responsible for that.

Yay! Yay! Yay!
So glad that you're enjoying your start with LHFHG and LHTH! I can tell you that you will still be loving them in Unit 33, too! You're in for a fun year with your sweet kids!
I'm in massive mission organization here as we get ready to dive in to school in about a week. So, I am loving sharing your joy from my nice clean, uncluttered desk today!
You should share your weekly fun on the Weekly Check In Threads. I love sitting down and sharing weeks with everyone when I can.

Thank-you for sharing in my joy, ladies!
I didn't think about the Rhymes in Motion from the "getting their wiggle out" perspective. What an ingenious idea!
.. and the weekly check-in thread is just pure brilliance .. thank-you for pointing that out, Kathleen!!

Re: End of Unit 2 update
We are also doing week 2 LHFHG. This is our first year trying it out. It is so much fun!! Last year we did another program that was mostly reading (and time consuming). My dd is a hands on learner so we supplemented ALOT. Haven't had to do that with HOD so far. I'm so grateful my friend pointed me in this direction.

What a blessing for you and your family and please do share every unit with us. We all love to see weekly what the kiddo's do and I love to get a peek into other families their journey with HOD on the Weekly Review.
