Why can't we take history camping? Love HOD!

Post by countrymom » Fri Jun 24, 2011 3:05 pm

We have had a good week. We were very sad to finish "The Railway Children." Ds couldn't wait for storytime each day and even my 4 1/2 yr old sat in most days. However, I showed him our next book, "Pagoo," and he was immediately ingrossed so we are good. Yesterday I told him we would not start a new unit because we are going camping next week and he replied, "Why can't we take history camping?" When your child begs to take history camping you know you have the right curriculum! :D

Wow, now that's something!!! :D I didn't even want to take my history books home when I was in ps. I was happiest when they were buried in my locker. I'm so glad our dc are loving their learning, and loving the books they get to read. They don't want to stop reading - what a different way to feel about school. :D A better way. Have fun camping though - HOD will be waiting when you get home! :D

I'm with Julie and all the pp! I wanted to take a BREAK from school, but not because it was hard, just drudgery!

DD asked to do school last Sunday. I had to explain to her that Sunday was a Sabbath (plus, I was exhausted - we actually think it was a bug because it happened to DH the day before) and that Mommy didn't "work on the Sabbath." I really debated whether I should or not, though. HOD hardly feels like work!

Glad you are enjoying the results of such an easy, fun, Christ-centered curriculum, Countrymom!
