Timeline for Bigger ~ HELP
I posted this in the Bigger section but think I should have posted here first. I am looking for a picture of what the timeline for Bigger (using a file folder) looks like. Thanks!

Re: Timeline for Bigger ~ HELP
Here is a time line that another HOD user had posted several years ago that I used last year. It worked really well. I cut one file folder and taped half of it to another to create a tri-fold. Then I used these charts and taped them inside the folder.

Re: Timeline for Bigger ~ HELP
We actually used a piece of poster board for ours. I wrote the dates across the top and used a yardstick to draw a line after each date so that the board was divided into columns. It's working great so far (although, you have to have a place to store it. We have a school cabinet, so not a problem for us.).

Last time through I just opened up the file folder, measured it and divided that by the number of columns we needed. I used a ruler to draw all the gridlines. It worked just fine for us.

That's exactly what we're doing, and it's working perfectly!netpea wrote:Last time through I just opened up the file folder, measured it and divided that by the number of columns we needed. I used a ruler to draw all the gridlines. It worked just fine for us.

Here's a post with a picture of ours. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2965&p=21744#p21744
I had normal 2-pocket folders from Wal-Mart for 5 cents, so I printed off a grid that I made on Excel in just a couple minutes and taped that onto the folder. For me this was easier and faster than measuring and drawing straight lines.
Hopefully these pictures help you get an idea of what you're making. The directions in HOD really are just the simple straight-forward way they seem. (Nothing tricky that you're missing. )

Thank you for all of your help. I don't know why I didn't think of using Excel in the first place. I had drawn the lines but this will look so much better!

If possible that would save me having to figure out how to build it. I'm not too computer savvy anymore.
Thanks, Julie

Julie,
I'd be happy to e-mail you the one I made if you want to pm me your address. But, I have no clue how to upload something from excel to a yahoo group or here. (I'm not even in a yahoo group...) I just made the grid lines visible, and then stretched the sides of the boxes in excel until it filled the page. Quick trail and error by clicking print preview a few times. But I would be happy to send it on if you'd like.

Re: Timeline for Bigger ~ HELP
We used a file folder with dates listed at top. My DS writes the timeline info and draws pic on a white label then sticks it under correct date.
