My daughter cracks me up: Awaiting Box day
My daughter cracks me up: Awaiting Box day
I just had to share this funny. Those of you that have experienced an HOD Box Day will appreciate this
I ordered my oldest's RtR stuff. She has been done with CtC for a little while and has just been on break. We school year round, and she is ready to get right on into RtR. So I showed her the email I received yesterday with the tracking information. She pulled out an old US map, hung it on her door, and is sketching the package's progression. She has checked the link several times today. I told her this morning that it probably would only update once each night, but she checked a little bit ago, and they posted a second time today. So our package has gone from South Dakota, to Nebraska, and is now in Kansas. She has it all marked on her map.
It is scheduled to deliver by Thursday, and she has asked me to postpone my errands to Friday for this week (I usually run errands on Thursdays). So funny!

That is precious... and totally understandable. I still track the shipments of the things I order that I am excited to receive. LOL.

Sorry, Kathleen, you missed it! It has made its way through MO and into Jackson (less than an hour's drive). I have agreed to move my errand day to tomorrow. We are kind of "out in the country", so delivery will probably be late this afternoon.

That is too cute! What a great personality your dd has - that kind of attitude is so refreshing to hear! HOD helps make homeschooling easier, more enjoyable, deeply meaningful, full of the Lord - BUT it is also the MOM that makes it all come together and happen. You obviously are doing that with joy and with flair - way to go MOM!

Re: My daughter cracks me up: Awaiting Box day
Our box arrived yesterday, and it was all we knew it would be .
We had the best time going through it. She begged to read one. I said no..... We thumbed through the books. She begged to read another one. I said no...... We sorted them into piles according to the boxes they would be used for. She begged to read another one. I said no...... I flipped through the teacher materials. She begged to read another one. I said no..... (Do you guys see the pattern yet?)
Seriously though, it all looks soooooo good. Can't wait to dive in!!

Angie,
I love it! The fact that she's begging for those books will make for a very exciting 1st day of school, though! As we finished out our year, Grant was very excited for SUMMER! Then, he got a hold of the HOD catalog and had a sneak peek at this coming year's book choices. When he realized the next Viking Quest book is there, he was wondering if we could just start in June. We're loving our summer break, but I know that I'll have enthusiastic kids when we dive into schol again.
