CTC for 6th grade question? Carrie or Julie?

Post by netpea » Thu Jun 16, 2011 8:50 am

Hi Carrie or Julie,
I have a question about using CTC for my DS for 6th grade. I just saw in the catalog that for 6th grade it is recommended to use either the History read alouds, the extension package or both. So if I do CTC as written using the History read alouds that is sufficient to make this a 6th grade program? He will be doing Singapore math 5B / 6A. We left Rod and Staff and started using Emma Serl's Intermediate Language Lessons, so I was planning to continue that. I'm not sure what Rod & Staff Book he would fall into.

He is on the bubble age-wise for the extensions, so I think he'd be just fine not doing them. :D R & S English covers so much more than Intermediate Language Lessons does, that I'd probably use either R & S English 4 or 5 with him, but you will know best.
