Singapore ordering question...

Post by shaffer96 » Sun Jun 12, 2011 9:27 pm

Hi I am getting ready to order Singapore Math for 1st grade and I was wondering if I should get the Instructor's Guides and the Textbooks as well as the workbooks? Has anyone bought these and found them to be helpful?

I used Singapore 1A & 1B independent of HOD last year and the home instructor's guides were not needed, IMO. I started off using them but they only managed to confuse me. I did however have the workbooks and textbooks. But I believe if you are doing Beyond with your first grader that Carrie has included math activities in the TM so that you don't have to buy the textbooks.

Edited: Just saw you are using Little Hearts... if you are not doing beyond you can either get the beyond guide for the activities and schedule for the math or get the textbooks and do it independently on your own.

Yes, ditto what the previous poster said. If you don't have the Beyond guide, you will need the textbooks. You probably won't need the Home Instructor Guides at all at this level unless you want a lot of hand-holding, and I agree with that the pp said about those...they just made things more cumbersome for me. :) It might be worth it just to go ahead and the Beyond guide if you think you'll be using it after Little Hearts. HTH!
