I was able to purchase a used DITHOR yesterday which I was thrilled about. So what do I need now for my daughter who will be in 2nd grade.
Student book 2/3?
Book List?
Book Projects?
What is essential? I'd love to buy the book packs but just don't have the $$ to do so. So I have to use my library which is good about getting books in but sometimes not when I need them and I dislike always feeling like we have to have them back at a certain time. Sigh. OH well. I think the booklist would help me find books in the particular genres but do I need it? What about the book project books? What would make that a must have?
Personally, I don't think the book project books are essential at this level. I didn't use them this year because I didn't know about them, but my son got a lot out of his DITHOR and really enjoyed the boy's book pack. I will probably purchase them this year though for him.

Oh, and yes, you would want to get the student workbook. I think it's pretty essential. Book list would be very helpful for you too.

We just started DITHOR yesterday - so very excited! You will need a student book. I am getting my books at the library too, and I found the book list to be very helpful. There are multiple suggestions in each genre, which will help keep you from waiting too long on a library book. I think you could pass on the project book. There are several project ideas in each genre, so you could choose something different.
you need the student book, and the book list is very helpful!! But I would not say you need the projects book. Even if you wanted to do a different project than the other options you could google "book project for x book" and get all sorts of ideas.
