ctc question

Post by LizzieB » Wed Jun 08, 2011 11:25 am

Which package would you reccomend my daughter reading by herself for ctc, the extention books or the storytime books? She will be joining in with her siblings for story time that I will read aloud from beyond. She is a good reader and really enjoys reading, but she doesn't read terribly fast. Any advice on which package would be the best would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

You didn't mention her age, but from what you posted, I would order the storytime books. We enjoyed them!

It also depends on how advanced a reader she is. If she is sensitive and/or not advanced, you can have her read the storytime books rather than you reading them aloud (or you could read them aloud as I am doing with my girls). Otherwise, if she is advanced and needs a challenge, you can add the extension books and follow up activities that are scheduled in the appendix of CTC.

Is your daughter doing CTC? If she is I the storytime set (History Read Alouds) is not really "optional" reading but the extension set is optional if you want your child needs more. I would definitely reccommend the storytime set :D .

Thank you all so much for your help. I really want the books that will be the easiest for her to read on her own, so it sounds like the history set will be the best choice.
