PLL and ILL for LA's?
PLL and ILL for LA's?
I was wondering if anyone used PLL and/or ILL for LA's instead of Rod and Staff? I only ask bc I have PLL and ILL!
I was looking through the cirriculum and saw that it used many of the things that is done in PLL and ILL (dictation, copywork ex...) Would PLL and ILL be repeating to much of the same type of LA work and not enough of the grammer work? Last year I used a differant cirriculum and I did PLL (2nd grade), ILL (4th grade), for 2 days a week and then a cheap grammer workbook for 2 days a week while my DD did Writing Strands on her own due every Friday. (She didn't like it bc she didn't like being told what to write, but I told her it was a good lesson in writing, following directions and submition.)

Re: PLL and ILL for LA's?
I've used them and loved them but only before finding HOD! It would be way too redundant to do both PLL/ILL alongside HOD. You'd have to choose one or the other, and if you choose other, it's not as well planned out for you. I'd go for HOD. I'm enjoying the change and it's been a pleasure to use!

These past threads with links within them may be of help as you ponder: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8984

I agree that the overlap with PLL and ILL and what is already scheduled within the HOD guides would be fairly large.
Blessings,
Carrie
