Here is the fable my son wrote for Write With the Best. I thought it was really good (if a little gruesome).
The Sloth and the Lion
There are sloths working on getting more things for their dwelling place. The sloths are working hard. All but one who is seated on a rock bossing the others around. Soon there came the king of beasts who was hiding in the tall grass. A sloth saw him hiding. He warned the others. They all ran, but the one who was sitting on the rock did not make it. He was not as fit as the others. Leo ate the sloth for two days.
The End
The moral of the story is: Don't be lazy.

That gave me a chuckle. It's a nice fable with a good moral. Well done!

LOL I like it! Just enough gruesomeness to be like a classic fable.

Makes me want to get some exercise.

I like how he ate the sloth "for two days". Makes it even that much more frightening!

Thanks Patty and Kristin.

Lol! It was motivating for me too. I thought the "for two days" part sounded just like something a typical boy would think up.

What a good moral to the story!

Your ds did a good job of capturing the feel of a fable and putting his own creativity into it. Thanks for sharing this!
