One thing

One thing, well actually more then one thing that I have really enjoyed so far in learning about HOD is Carrie's explanation for why she chooses what she chooses. This really helps me understand the whole program even more.

I just finished reading up on why they don't use Apologia in the middle school years for science and now I wish we could have done something like that for my dd. Even though she is 13, almost 14, we are doing Apologia's first middle school science book, General Science and it really isn't here cup of tea. In fact, she is really struggling with it. She might had have learned so much more if we had tried HOD earlier but we have always been one year ahead of the latest guide when it have been released.

Anyway, understanding the thought process behind the choices help me to continue on even if I have difficulty.

Christy,

I'm so glad to hear that it is helpful to dialogue about the thinking behind our choices! :D I agree that it is wonderful to understand the "why" behind what we choose. :D It gives a glimpse into our thinking and into understanding that nothing in our guides is random, but instead every choice is purposeful in keeping the day in balance.

Thanks for sharing! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

I appreciate this so much too! :D Most of the time you cannot find out why an author chose what he/she did because you can never get access to them, and the people answering their phones or running their message board (if they even have one) can't answer philosophy questions either. :( The dedication of Mike and Carrie being so available to answer questions and give excellent customer service personally is really unparalleled. I love to get a window into Carrie's mind - it makes all the sense in the world why the guides are written the way they are then - and it just gives me a total peace and contentment about my homeschooling my dc with HOD. Thanks for sharing this! :D
