I'm joining the HoD family!

Post by catbeth » Mon Apr 18, 2011 12:06 pm

I've already started LHTH with my 3-year-old. But I've been going all over the place trying to decide among various curricula for my upcoming first grader, who is gifted.

My mom finally sealed the deal for me. I showed her the sample pages from Beyond, and she gave the program an emphatic thumbs up. She was equally impressed upon looking through the catalog. She thinks it will challenge dd appropriately, and will make my life easier. She doesn't want me to be overwhelmed with lesson plans and book gathering.

So, that's the perspective of a retired teacher with nearly 4 decades of experience!

I'll be placing my order as soon as dh gives the okay, I'm so excited!

Congratulations on making the HOD choice, and welcome! :D
It's nice to get approval from a teacher, isn't it? My mom was a teacher for 20 years and even though I disagree with many things about the educational system, I still want that thumbs up too!

Welcome to the family - your mom is one smart lady! :D By not spending time planning, I have time to spend teaching, and that's the part of my day that's with my dc. It sure makes us a close-knit family. Without homeschooling, I would not be nearly as in touch with my dc. HOD is the connection that keeps us together. I'm glad you are going to get to enjoy the benefits of using HOD too! :D
