For those of you who have used Beyond.....
What types of activities/experiments do you get to do for science during the year? Did you feel any need to add to it?
Did your child seemed prepared to move on to R&S English 2 after using the LA in Beyond?
We had a *blip* on our homeschooling adventure last year and ended up putting Colton in public school (gasp!) for the past few months. I felt overextended with my pregnancy (baby #6 due in 2wks) and going to school myself. I finally made the decision to put my degree on hold, starting next semester, so that I have more time to focus on my calling as wife/mother/teacher!
I've been looking at Beyond for 1st grade and repeating the E.R. set rather than starting DITHOR. Colton was an early reader but I don't want him to be too challenged and get frustrated. PS Kindergarten has been good for some things (lots of cool art projects and fieldtrips) but hasn't really expanded his reading skills from where we left off. Anyway, I still haven't totally decided what to do.
Thanks for any help/advice with my questions!

Re: Questions about Beyond & Reintro :-)
I think using Emerging Readers is a good idea for your dc. My son did Beyond with emerging readers this year and has really thrived. He reads well, but he enjoyed the books in ER and I don't think he would have been ready for DITHOR. I think your son will be ready to move to R&S 2 after the LA in Beyond, no problem. Those are just my thoughts. Beyond is a wonderful program, so easy to use and my sons have enjoyed it this year. Blessings to you!

Re: Questions about Beyond & Reintro :-)
I'd repeat Emerging Readers and if he goes through them quickly, fine more books at his level for him to read as you do Beyond.
I did this with my son this year while doing Beyond. He did the ERs last year, but I knew this year he wasn't ready for DITHOR. I've had him read LOTS of books. We did this mainly at bedtime as it worked to encourage reading since he gets to "stay up late" past his little sisters.
