My dd21 has always been interested in learning about different wars, especially when she was in school. For our history reading in HOD, I read 'Nancy Hart's Dinner' in History Stories for children to dd7(LHFHG-Week 27-Day 1). During the Revolutionary War, Nancy Hart, in Georgia, had 6 Tories enter her home and demand a meal. She was very kind to them and so they let down their guard, thinking she was their friend. During the dinner, she hid their guns, and ended up taking them prisoner. I later asked dd21 if she heard the story. She hadn't and was very fascinated by it. Honestly, I had never that story, either. It is just another example of the excitement in learning through HOD. DD21 has also been nearby while we are reading Burgess books. I think she likes those stories, too.

Just had to share this. Thanks HOD! The living books are great! Even for the 'old' people!
By the way, after sharing the story about Nancy Hart with dd21, she asked dd7 if she wanted to watch Liberty's Kids. They are doing that while I am writing this.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. III John 4
