After just spending a few moments on this board, I am excited to be part of the HOD family. My husband and I have 3 boys, 7yrs, 5yrs, and 3yrs. We have been homeschooling for 2 yrs. We live in Ohio, I am a part time Children's Ministry Director at our church, and am a hair dresser on evening and weekends, when I find the time. I mainly do that in the summer. I never would have thought I would homeschool, but the Lord led us to it, after having heavy hearts about our oldest son attending all day Kindergarten, which is a requirement in our state. Our kindergarten year, I made up our lessons. This year we used a workbook based curriculum, which we enjoyed, but just was still searching for the 'one'.
We discovered HOD at our local HS convention, and even after looking through the sea of curriculum, I kept coming back to HOD. I looked through reviews, sought out other moms who used the program and even called and spoke with a very informative man, who helped me with placement. I am excited for next year! We will be doing the red book, LHFHG(?) for both our older boys, kindergarten and 2nd grade, but we will do the emerging reader lessons for our oldest in the next book up. We will also be doing the 3-4 preschool program with our youngest. This will be my first year doing preschool. My other children attended our church's preschool.
I can't wait to get to know you and your families. It is a blessing to find a place where HS families lift up and encourage eachother!
