It's the little things that impress me!

We are doing a unit in Little Hands that has an activity that instructs you to fill a dishtub with warm soapy water, add some kitchen type items and "explore" the water. You then add red food coloring to "turn the water into blood".
My daughter asks, "why are you adding soap to the water?" I reply, "I have no idea honey". So, we get right into doing the activity and it dawns on me that the soapy water will repel the food coloring from our skin, the utensils, and prevent staining.
Oh my goodness, this is so obvious to me now, and I am sure all of you would have known this as well! I, on the other hand, had no clue! This is a simple, little thing that I completely appreciate. Without this tid-bit of information, no doubt my daughter and I would be scrubbing up trying to figure out how to remove red food coloring from our skin and everything else!

Thanks Carrie for thinking of everything!

I've done that activity twice now, and never come to that realization! I'm impressed by you figuring that out - I did appreciate the nice aroma of the soap though, and when I do it again with third ds, I'll definitely appreciate not turning red too!  :D

Nope, I would have been clueless too. Are you glad Carrie thinks of these things for us.

Candice,

You're so bright! A gold star for you today! :D And how do you think I figured out that the soap was needed? Yes, red hands and sink!

Blessings,
Carrie
