which book will replace the Marco Polo one in Preparinng?
I have been checking and it isn't up yet.

Ah yes! I was planning to post the replacement text on the website shortly. But, since you asked....

We will use "Close to the Wind: the Beaufort Scale" by Peter Malone. A very neat book on how the Beaufort Scale was developed. But more than that, it gives a wonderful glimpse into life at sea on a sailing vessel. Here's the link at Amazon

Also, we finally have a winner for the music CD for "Preparing..." which will also be added to the website soon. It is called "Lead Me to the Rock" and has been recorded by homeschool mom Kelly Crawford. She sings the Psalms word-for-word from the KJV text of the Bible in a very God-honoring way. So, now kiddos will be able to sing their Psalms as they memorize them with "Preparing...". Here's a link to the website where you can hear clips from the CD

They both look great to me! I am excited about having them actually sing the Psalms. That seems like it will be powerful.

There goes that pitter patter of my heart again!!

The samples of the music was so beautiful and it was in KJV!!! Most folks use other translations, so when I run across something that uses KJV I am especially pleased.

The book looked cool too! I love sea adventures.

Maybe Hannah will too.

Hooray! Me too! I feel like everything is finally coming together in "Preparing...." and starting to work like a well-oiled clock. I can feel the excitement building in me at the thought of doing it with my second little guy next year.

Carrie, do you know if there is an equivalent CD with the Psalms done in the NIV? We are a year and a half away from Preparing, so we have time to search for one, just curious if you already knew of one...
