Readers Before the ER Books
Readers Before the ER Books
DD has not started the ER books yet, because I didn't feel she was ready. But, I wanted her to read something, so I got the Grade 1 Primer (Days Go By) and the Grade 1 Reader (More Days Go By). I know the Pathway Readers have been been mentioned before. DD is reading the Primer and doing VERY well. I will have her read both books, but then I need to decide if she should begin the ER books. Can anyone tell me if after reading these two Pathway books, would there still be a gap between those and the ER books as far as reading level? Would that be a good point to begin the ER books? I'm just pondering what to do after these two Pathway books. I am so encouraged by how well dd is doing with them.

Re: Readers Before the ER Books
I would think so, but I haven't looked at Pathway in a while. Here's a sample of The Early Reader's Bible. http://www.amazon.com/Early-Readers-Bib ... 0310701392 (Hope that's ok to post.) Other than perhaps names, it seems pretty basic.
The nice thing is if you start the ER set and she isn't ready you can always stop or slow down. The ER set is written in enough guides to still get the full use out of the guide and the ER set.

Re: Readers Before the ER Books
We have the Early Readers Bible, and, probably by the time she finishes the Pathway books, dd will be ready for that. I was just curious about whether there would be any other Pathway readers at a reading level in between the ones I have and the ER books. I'm thinking she will be ready for the ER books.

Re: Readers Before the ER Books
We have used and loved the pathways readers and keep them around for free reading. After looking through them and the first scheduled ERs, I think that if your dd is able to read the blue book she should be able to move into the Early Readers Bible. HTH
