I just wanted to say that I was so blessed by our Morning Bells devotion this morning that I almost cried!

I love that little book! We were talking about Betsy Ross making the American flag, and the devotion was about the banner of the Lord. I had just gotten done telling my children that the banner or flag that our Father waves over us is LOVE! Then the devotion reiterated this so beautifully. I was overwhelmed with a sense of my Father's love for me in that moment, I could just vision this in a new and profound way through the banner imagery.
Not only are my children blessed as they learn scriptural truths, but we as Mothers are most certainly blessed in various ways. Ah, I just wanted to share that. We even sang, "His Banner of me is Love" together, and it all tied in so well. I hope that blesses someone today. The banner our Father in Heaven is waving over us all is the flag of His perfect LOVE. Beautiful...

We just did that devotion yesterday. Love it!!! What a wonderful little book!!! I'm seriously considering buying it for Christmas for my sisters-in-law and my mother-in-law. It's so applicable to us as children of God.

What a wonderful word to share with us today! Thank you!
I ADORE Morning Bells. If you haven't done Bigger yet, I'll tell you that you will be using Little Pillows with it. That is the other little book by Francis Ridley Havergal, and it is just as much of a gem as Morning Bells.
Thanks for sharing. I love those little moments where you can see God's spirit move!

How beautiful!

This sharing of our faith with our dc is soooooo important. It speaks volumes! I am so happy you seized the moment and really put your whole heart into it. Our dc can tell so much about what is important to us by the way we act. Your attitude conveyed so much about your love for the Lord to them - how blessed they are to have you as their mother!

Those little books pack a punch - a spiritual punch that is truly something to catch our breath at. "Surely God is in this place, I can feel His presence all around" - I often think of those lyrics when doing 'Morning Bells' or 'Little Pillows'. Frances Ridley Havergal was one amazing woman. Her faith lives on in those little books, and makes its way to our dc's hearts by God's grace. Sharing our faith with our dc isn't always easy - kuddos to you for letting the Son shine in!
In Christ,

I couldn't agree more. My youngest son asked Jesus to be his Lord and Savior after a devotional from Devotions for the Children's Hour in Little Hearts last year! And this year, we both sat and shed tears during the song on track 3 (
Greater Love) of Hide Em In Your Heart Vol. II - where the speaker says, "They didn't take his life...he laid it down." Gives me chills still.
Isn't HOD amazing???

That is so wonderful!

I often find HOD ministers to me as much as it does the kids. I love to see how they apply what they have learned as well. There are times when I really understand what Christ meant by child like faith and it convicts me. The other day my dd and I were reading Beautiful Girlhood together and I was so convicted I had to laugh because even my dd could see that surely it must convict me. It is great how we can work on our salvation with fear and trembling along with them.

All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children. Isaiah 54:13

Tina,
What a wonderful moment! I love those moments when I can just feel Christ's love pouring over us! It is worth taking time to soak up.
I agree that I often am convicted in my walk with the Lord through the devotions in the HOD guides too. They are a gentle reminder to me on how I fall short, but also how great Christ's grace and mercy is for me.
Thanks for sharing!
Blessings,
Carrie
