Connections the children make with HOD

Post by GinainMD » Tue Mar 08, 2011 11:15 am

I am just amazed at the connections that my girls are making between different components of Beyond. The other week we read in Stories of the Pilgrims how the Native Americans generally fought by sneaking up and surprising their enemies. Later, we were reading in The Trumpet of the Swan how the workers at the Philadelphia Zoo were sneaking up on Serena to pinion her wing. My dd jumped up and says oh oh the zoo workers are like the Indians from Stories of the Pilgrims. I know that it is a little thing but to me it really shows how well they are understanding what we have learned. It really blessed this mama who sometimes isn't sure everyone is really paying attentions as well as they ought. I knew all of you here could appreciate these moments. Blessings

That's so neat! I love it when we are able to see our dc making connections. I know they are probably doing it so much more often than we realize, but it does do a Mama's heart good to hear it every now and then. :D

Yes, I love it when that happens. I believe the Lord gives us those little glimpses to encourage us and spur us on just when we need it. :D And I need it a lot!

That is wonderful! :D I so love the Bible connections my kids get from HOD. And I have to say I can't believe how well my kids know and love history. That never would have come from anything I would have thrown together. It's such a different way of living. So great to see it oozing out into life. :D
