I'm getting ready to order RTR, and I just want to double check something. If we are using the Extension Package for Story Time (for a 13-14yo), do we ALSO use the regular History Read-Alouds in addition to having them read the Extension books on their own? OR, are the Extension books in place of the History set?
This year we just did the Extension package instead, but now I'm second-guessing myself if that was the right thing or not. Please help! Thanks!!

Re: ordering question for older students
From the website:
"SELF-STUDY EXTENSION PACKAGE FOR OLDER STUDENTS - $101.13 $88.18 (Save $12.95) [Add to Cart]
Adding this optional package to the Economy Package extends the area of history to include more advanced, independent reading material. This allows your 7th or 8th grader to learn along with your younger students. This extension package is best suited for mature 7th and 8th graders who are strong, independent readers. For sensitive 7th or 8th graders, or for those who are not yet strong readers, we recommend the Basic Package in place of the Extension Package."
The wording leads me to believe you only NEED to use one OR the other package. However, some families just LOVE lots of books and use both the basic pack AND extension pack, but you are not REQUIRED to. Hope that helps

Ok, thanks!! That's what I thought about the wording of it, too. I just wanted to make sure I was reading it correctly before ordering.blessedmomof4 wrote:From the website:
