A newbie homeschool funny

Post by Qtipper » Fri Feb 04, 2011 8:28 pm

I just have to share. We are starting HOD this coming Monday. Today was supposed to be the kids' last day of school and my last day teaching at the same place. But, it was a snow day, so there was no school. So, the school was closed and I spent the day deep cleaning my house. For the kids, this translated into a LOT of movie-sitting and Wii-sitting, if you catch my drift. At one point, my daughter comes BOUNDING into the room, squeezes me in a great big hug and exclaims, "I LOVE HOMESCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!"

:? Me thinks Monday will be a rude awakening...

Blessings~

Hello Qtipper! Thanks for sharing this funny! I had to read it to dh and we both cracked up. I am praying for you as you start HOD on Monday. May your kiddos be cooperative and excited as they start this new chapter and adventure. Have a great weekend!

First impressions are important, right? So hey, run with it! :D Actually, snow days are my favorite time to homeschool. I remember our first snow day homeschooling when all the schools were called off around us. I remember thinking, "We are house-bound, and can still school today, which means when the weather's nice, and the school is making up all those snow days, we'll be done and outside enjoying the warm sunshine!" We school every snow day we get the chance. :D I hope you have a terrific start on Monday with HOD!

ha ha ha ha!!
Last week Dallas was shut down! You know when the roads are covered in ice and you can't use salt... and you have no plows of your own... Ice and sow will shut your city down! I did school Mon Tues Wed but it actually snowed! on Thursday so I let them have a Snow Day.. Tho I had to convince the principal it was ok.. All the schools were closed Tuesday -Friday. Give em a break Dad... lol

You are so sweet to ask. Believe it or not, we are all SICK. 1st day - Lou Bear was sick, today - K-Dog and Mommy are sick. What is it? It is the horrible epithet, virus.

I think I was more disappointed than the kiddos. But, we did do our reading, bible, biography reading, history etc. They just layed there and listened. Plus, it helped pass the time at the Dr. office!

Praying for a better 2nd week ;)

Blessings~

Feel better soon. We're just recovering from something terrible too with fevers and coughs, etc.
