Christian Liberty Nature Readers

Post by HappyMama » Mon Jan 31, 2011 3:14 pm

My ds is currently reading the CLP Nature Reader Book 1 as part of the ER set and he just *loves* it! This is just the best book! I'd like to have him continue reading these and I'm just curious about the subsequent reading levels. I see that the reading level for the first book is 3.0, so does that mean that book 2 would be 4.0, book 3 is 5.0, etc? Does anyone know? Thanks! :)

That's so funny! This is my son's LEAST favorite of the Emerging Readers so far...yet he is a good sport about it. He just likes fiction better! I really LIKE it myself though and am learning a lot from listening to HIS read-aloud time!

Blessings!

I can't seem to find the reading level for these books, but I'm guessing you could use the second book as a DITHOR Level 2/3 nonfiction book or for summer reading.

Oh my goodness we LOOOOVE this book. The first day dd said that she didn't like it and it wasn't what she expected. The next day she asked to read an extra story! I told her there were more and she wants to read the rest too. I also would love to know what the reading levels are. I told her we might get the level 2 one to read after we finished the ERs.

I also asked her what her favorite ER was so far and this is her favorite, hands down. Amelia Bedelia is her 2nd favorite. But she (and I) has loved them all.

DD 6 - LHFHG

On the CLP website, they're listed under the different grade levels, so I suspect the difficulty level must increase, but I haven't seen them in person. We're partway into the one in the ER set, and ds loves it too! He's a nonfiction kiddo, though, through and through. He was put off by the cover, at first, but now he likes it.

My dc loved these books! They were constantly telling me this or that fact from the books when they were outside. "Mom, did you know that this is a mud wasp's nest, and I can tell because...?" The age levels do increase with each book, and if I remember correctly, it's a pretty significant increase from Level 3 on up. :D
