History Stories for Children revision

Post by susie in ms » Tue Mar 25, 2008 8:10 pm

I was reading reviews of this book and one reviewer said that the book lost over 50 pages when it was revised. Is this true? Is the print smaller or the content lessened? Is it something to be concerned about? What I am looking at is that if the older version is better, but will be next to impossible to find in a year or two....I may want to get it before they are all gone. But if the revision is as good as the older version then I won't worry about it.

susie,

Good question! The new version actually uses a much smaller, condensed font but all of the text is still there (in almost all cases word-for-word). They did re-title a couple of stories and combine several related stories into one longer story. They also rearranged the text in a of couple stories and added one. These changes are all very minor.

The main change is the order in which the stories were presented. They used to be very randomly grouped. In "Little Hearts..", we use a chronological overview for the stories, so we didn't use them in the order of the book anyway.

So, essentially it is completely the same with a little restructuring. The pictures are clearer and overall the text is pleasing to the eye. We're happy with the revision and feel that it hasn't affected how well it goes with "Little Hearts.." at all.

No need to buy the old version ahead! 8)

Blessings,
Carrie

Thanks sooo much!! I am so very happy about this. I think the reviewer just looked a the page numbers and drew conclusions without thoroughly checking it out. I am happy that the new book is plenty good!!
