Hi all,
In CTC and RTR if someone decides to "beef up" the science for an 8th grader using an Apologia course or something else, Would you do this in addition to the HOD science or in lieu of?
Science add-on or in lieu of?

Re: Science add-on or in lieu of?
Would you say the eighth grader you are speaking of is science-minded, and possibly someday headed toward a science field of work? How naturally science comes to the child, how much of an interest it is of his/her, and how likely he/she may want to choose a field of study/occupation would make a difference in that choice for me. I have used CTC's science, and am using RTR's, and I have enjoyed that very much, but if your child is on the top of the extension range, and fits some of the above criteria, I guess I'd just weigh how long you want them to be doing science, how much is too much, and how much is not enough.
I know this is vague, and I am not trying to be vague,
but each family has different goals in mind for their dc, and the above considerations are the criteria I would use to arrive at my decision for the options you've mentioned.
