Sort of OT:What are your favorite CM resources?

Post by countrymom » Sun Nov 28, 2010 10:32 am

Our library system does not have most of the CM books I have seen recommended on this board. I am reading the CM Companion right now (and love it). If you could only choose one or two CM or related books, what would you choose? I have a list somewhere, but am not sure how to prioritize. I need to put a couple on my Christmas list. Thanks for your help.

I'll preface this with the admission that I preferred straight-forward to flowery when just getting going with reading CM books, so Catherine Levison's books were my favorite to wrap my mind around the nuts and bolts of CM style education. I also enjoyed Penny Gardner's - the one that's Christian. (I was sad to see she has now published a secular version as well. :( ) Those were probably my very favorites to begin with, and then Karen Andreola's was more flowery and heartfelt, and I enjoyed that very much next - but if you are already enjoying Andreola's, and feel like you have down the nuts and bolts of it all, I'd say Gardner's may be one you'd really enjoy now! :D HTH!

countrymom,

Here's a link to past thread that may be of help to you as you ponder: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4606

If you get a chance to put "CM" in the search on the board too, you'll also find many more threads about CM related books and materials. :D

Hope that helps!

Blessings,
Carrie
