deltagal,
That is such a good point, and one that I find true all of the time. I can tend to let myself slip away from "routine" things bit by bit the further I get into my school year. It is a good reminder to me to be more diligent in keeping the stability in our routine as much as possible.
Blessings,
Carrie

And I think it is important for many to remember routine can be a pattern that is followed rather than an exact time of day. A general pattern that does not have too many gaps in it works really well for my son. I am not a good follow a time for this and that but a pattern I can do really well. So if you fall into the same wacky category as I do remember if you can't follow a strict time schedule a pattern of time is your friend. As we go through our week this year we have a whole other set of appointments I never thought we would be having but are essential. I can't even on my own follow and exact schedule and with the changes even if I could it would be impossible now. So we follow a pattern of time with sort of general blocks of time, this first then that type thing and keep the flow smooth. It still calms my son. And if he is having a hard time emotionally I often look to find there was a break in the flow that I really could have prevented so I try to avoid those as much as possible. I have to remind myself sometimes that what we are working for as a family is peace not perfection. Only God can bring perfection. What He offers us until we get to His perfection is peace beyond all understanding. So this year peace is my goal. Keeping a general continuous flow really helps with that. It still gives times for breaks just keeps things on track.Carrie wrote: That is such a good point, and one that I find true all of the time.
