First Day of Little Hearts for His Glory!

Post by moedertje » Tue Oct 05, 2010 2:57 pm

My ds was so excited today to start LHFHG. :D He got up this morning and I set all his books ready on the couch for him. After he had been begging me all week last week to start with his new math book! :D :D :D I was planning to take the month of October off for our fall break instead of having taken a summer break. :P  :P
He called Daddy (as he was getting ready to leave for work) and showed him his memory verse on the wall and all his books with great enthusiasm. :D

We finished all of unit 1 day 1 and the only thing he was rather upset about is that he only had a little bit to do in his math book. :( He was almost in tears and I explained that we will do it again tomorrow and he settled down. Now in going through LHFHG the second time around I appreciate the speed that Carrie recommends in the guides since I understand Charlotte Mason's method of teaching. :D

I will post pictures on the weekly check in at the end week. :!:

Isn't that great! I can feel his excitement! We started LHFHG 3 weeks ago and my dd is really enjoying it too. And she doesn't want to stop with her math lessons either. :D

moedertje,

How fun that you are already underway with LHFGH! You are so organized. I am very impressed! :D I can glimpse your son's enthusiasm, and it does my heart good. We pray he will enjoy LHFHG as much as he loved LHTH! We will love sharing your journey through it this year on the board. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Thank you so much ladies for your encouragement! I was a little surprised, but wanted to catch him in his momentum of wanting to move on quickly. :o I wanted to start LHFHG in first grade, but since he is ready I will start him slowly and we'll see how he does. :P Trying to make sure he is in the middle or end range by the time he gets to Bigger!!!
Now off to the weekly check-in to post pictures:-). :D :D

What a great start to the year! :D :D :D That is precious he wanted to show daddy his memory verse. Also, those kind of tears about math are the good kind! :D I'd hold on to that memory for awhile. I can't wait to see your pics too - I looked forward to that on the weekly check-in last year. :D
