He got up this morning and I set all his books ready on the couch for him. After he had been begging me all week last week to start with his new math book! I was planning to take the month of October off for our fall break instead of having taken a summer break. 
He called Daddy (as he was getting ready to leave for work) and showed him his memory verse on the wall and all his books with great enthusiasm.
We finished all of unit 1 day 1 and the only thing he was rather upset about is that he only had a little bit to do in his math book.
He was almost in tears and I explained that we will do it again tomorrow and he settled down. Now in going through LHFHG the second time around I appreciate the speed that Carrie recommends in the guides since I understand Charlotte Mason's method of teaching. I will post pictures on the weekly check in at the end week.
I wanted to start LHFHG in first grade, but since he is ready I will start him slowly and we'll see how he does. 
I can't wait to see your pics too - I looked forward to that on the weekly check-in last year.
