Switching from HW paper to Notebook Paper

Post by mrsrandolph » Thu Sep 23, 2010 5:37 pm

I have a question. When do you switch from that big Handwriting paper to regular Notebook paper? My oldest is in Bigger. I think she has manuscript down pretty consistently. We have NOT started cursive yet.

Should I transition her to regular NB paper now, or do cursive first?

Thanks in Advance!

My dd is in Bigger and is learning cursive right now. Notebook paper was too difficult for her, so I got her a transition notebook by Mead. It helps with spacing, etc while being on smaller lines...here is a link

Hope this helps!!

I had not seen it either, but happened upon it at Wal-Mart! It has helped my dd greatly improve. She loves it.

I notice you are in Cartersville. We are in Dallas, GA...howdy neighbor!

Hi! We are doing Beyond with my just turned 7 year old daughter. We started the year off with the handwriting paper. My plan is to break the year up in thirds. We will use the handwriting paper the first part of the year, switch to the RediSpace paper (from Walmart) during the middle of the year, and finish out the year with the regular wide-ruled notebook paper. If she needs more time in each one, we will push back our schedule a bit. But, this is just our plan for the year. HTH! Have a good day!

Thanks for sharing that Mead paper! I have never seen that before.

I started my oldest on wide lined notebook paper last year at age 8. He did fine. (manuscript only, cursive he is still praciticing)
