Recommended supplies for a smooth school year

Post by Marcee » Sun Aug 29, 2010 1:30 pm

What I plan to purchase so far-
Dixon® Ticonderoga® Pencils
Good 3 Hole Punch
A real metal pencil sharpener
Tape
Dry Erase Boards
Expo Markers 12 set/6 for each child

Do you use Sheet Protectors?
Binders?
Do we need handwriting paper?
Notebooks?
Do you buy new crayons?

We are doing LHFHG and BHFHG

We used sheet protectors for Bigger and one big binder. My kids love a composition book and wallmart has them for 25 cents now. You do not need one for either program you are doing just throwing it out there. We always buy new crayons and colored pencils just because they are fun. Wallmart has those for a great deal right now as well. Other thing we end up using a lot are glue sticks. They are 2 for 25 cents I think at wallmart as well. You can tell I have been shopping at Wallmart, hahaha! :D

You do not need sheet protectors but they are really nice for keeping their hard work neat and clean. You probably need a binder and I would say something for coloring, crayons are good. You do not need composition books my kids just go crazy for them. You do not need handwriting paper. There are lots of places you can print them for free and if you are using cheerful cursive the practice is in the program. If you want hand writing paper I could see putting it to some use. I have my kids do copywork on the verses but that is an extra thing we do. HTH. :D

I snapped pics of getting ready for BHFHG, so I'll share the link for that. Reading through the Introduction, Learning through History, and Learning the Basics at the start of each guide helps me get ready for the year. I know some of the choices you make when you read through those may be different than mine here, but maybe this can get you started :D :
