making sure this is what I need for Bigger Hearts

Hello,

We're still working with Beyond,
My son (8 1/2) is reading emerging books, and I am trying to decide if he'll be ready for Drawn into Heart of Reading by next January. I don't want him to repeat all the readers, but not sure that he's ready to move on to DiThor. He can read and comprehend well, but his reading can be a little choppy at times.
Assuming he will be ready, is this everything I need?

Yes, you have all you need here for Bigger Hearts! The only thing I wondered about is the Basic Package - you either choose to have it with Singapore Math 2A/2B or Singapore Math 3A/3B. Both basic packages include Preparing to Build English 2 Pupil Text. I'm assuming you'd want Singapore Math 2A/2B, as the hands-on math plans in Bigger Hearts go with that, but that's the only thing I wasn't sure about in your list. We are doing Bigger Hearts for the second time now with our second ds - such an awesome program! I love how much teaching I get to do to get them ready for independence the next year. It's such a drawing close kind of a year, because dc really have a growing and maturing year with Bigger Hearts.

As far as the reading goes, there are supplemental emerging reader's titles in the Appendix of Beyond you could use if you feel your ds needs longer to grow into those before doing DITHOR 2/3. Otherwise, we just started DITHOR 2/3 low key, with me writing a good portion of his answers he dictated to me in his 2/3 Student Book for him. Then, I wrote them on a markerboard and he copied them, and finally he wrote them on his own. We also had him read through the books slowly. It worked great to ease him into DITHOR!

We're using Math U See and we're happy with it.
I think I got a little confused, and I want to make sure I can budget for what I will need. I don't want to get packages with items I won't need.
