I made the right decision stopping Beyond last year...

Post by Tree House Academy » Thu Aug 12, 2010 4:44 pm

and doing Little Hearts! School today went so well with my younger son. We did Beyond, Unit 1, Day 1 and it went beautifully! 8) I am pleased as punch that I followed my gut last year and dropped back (against my own "but I don't wanna's"). The difference between our first day last year and our first day this year was amazing. My son and I discussed the ships and he understood all of what I was saying and was listening and asking questions. When we did the continents, he was actively involved and happily memorizing them. He even had me label our map with the index cards and draw on Magellan's route and Columbus' route. I am one amazing happy momma!

Rebecca, I'm so glad you shared. I loved reading your previous posts as you worked through your decision to make that change awhile back. We will start Beyond in September. I am really getting excited about it! We had a great year with Little Hearts. It's encouraging to hear that you are happy with your decision.

Blessings!

Great news! I followed your posts last year about dropping back to Little Hearts. It really helped me as I was thinking about pushing my oldest ahead. We started Little Hearts this year and it's a great fit. Thanks for sharing!

That's great! We will also be starting Beyond soon--I'll be looking to see if dd is as active as that in her participation! Hopefully, right?

Yay! My son even went as far to make his own ship and play pretend that week with pillows, Little tyke slide (inside),play food, stuffed animals, etc etc. It was so cool to see him incorporate "school" into his "play",.
So glad your 1st went well
