Summer activity ideas from my 8 year old

Post by water2wine » Fri Aug 06, 2010 6:40 pm

So today my 8 year old comes to me with the Beyond manual we just finished. "Mommy I have a great idea for summer activities! I want to redo all the Beyond activities again. ALL of them. Is that OK? We can do them without you this time." I think it is safe to say my two youngest loved Beyond. :D

So sweet. We've loved Beyond too. We're not quite done with it-but that's my fault and has nothing to do with the curriculum!
Momma to my 4 sweeties:
DD 14 - MTMM and DITHOR (completed LHFHG, Beyond, Bigger, Preparing, CTC, took a couple years off, and now she's back!)
DS 11 and DD 9 - Preparing(completed 2 rounds of LHTH, LHFHG, Beyond, and Bigger)
DD 6 - LHFHG

I am all about it! Keeps them busy in a positive way that allows them to have fun but I know it does not involve them getting into something of mine and making a disaster area of it. And that also means they will do the scrubbing unit again, hehehe, my favorite! But seriously it is a chance for them to learn how to read and follow directions and also put their own imagination into it because we are not pressed for time.

Yes! I saw that "scrubbing unit" in Beyond and have heard others remark about it in the past...I think it was Julie and Kathleen as well as you some time ago!
I'm looking forward to that unit...I'll most definitely have our tile floors be the focus
