OT: Books for a 13 yo mystery/adventure lover

Post by deltagal » Fri Aug 06, 2010 6:57 am

Hi all,

My 13 yo son was commenting last night how much he used to love the Hardy Boys, but he feels "too old" for them now. He was wondering if there were other books of the same venue that were a little more challenging read. Any suggestions?
With Joy!

Well, one thing that comes to mind is the Tommy and Tuppence novels by Agatha Christie. There are three where they are young (twenties or thirties?) and two where they are old. The 'young' ones are The Secret Adversary, N or M?, and Partners in Crime, the last being a series of short stories. Compared to some Agatha Christie stories, especially those featuring Miss Marple, these books are action-packed. Plus, any mystery/adventure lover should familiarize himself with Agatha Christie at some point.
