We started with the wider lined handwriting paper from Miller Pads and Paper, and then he transitioned into wide-lined notebook paper. I think there comes a time when it actually becomes more difficult for dc to write on handwriting paper lines, as their writing has progressed enough it is too tedious. Just try writing a poem on handwriting paper with large lines yourself, and you'll know what I mean!

That's what made me realize he needed to switch over to wide-lined notebook paper (I was writing a model for him on handwriting paper, and I said "This is taking me forever!" My little guy said, "Yeah! It does for me too!"

). Anyway, I think it's important to start where they need to, but then to watch for when it seems time to move to smaller lines as well.
