Hello!
Hello everyone,
I am Donna, married to Richard for 23 years. We have nine children here with us and on waiting in heaven. DD 18, DD 16, DS 10, DD 10, DD 10, DS10, DD 3, DD 3 and DD 3. We are late coming to homeschooling. We pulled one of our sons out in December of last year and I hope DH will allow me to bring my other ones home this fall. My one son is 10, but is academically functioning on the 2nd/3rd grade level. He is struggling in both math and reading. I am planning on using DITHR Level 2 books. Right now he finishing up some math from 2nd grade over the summer.
Right now I am struggling with what program to use with him. I am leaning towards PHFHG. Does anyone have suggestions or comments?
My 3 year old girls will be starting with LHTH soon and I can't wait to get started with them.
I look forward to getting to know everyone here.
Donna

Re: Hello!
Hello Donna, and welcome!
Not knowing anything else about your son, from what you describe PHFHG might be a difficult place to start because there is quite a bit of writing. Perhaps BHFHG would be better. You know your child better than anyone of course-have you checked to see where he fits in the placement chart? It is a very helpful tool to use in deciding on what level to use. Here is a link to it:

Lourdes,
Thank you. He does struggle with writing. One of difficulties is fine motor coordination. Thanks for posting the link. I had seen it my cruising through the site and forgot about it. Off to check.

Re: Hello!
Donna,
Lourdes did a great job of helping you and in pointing you in the right direction. From what you've shared so far, I would also lean in the Bigger Hearts direction.
I just wanted to let you know that we're glad to have you here!
If you have other questions, ask away! The ladies are so gracious with their time and truly love to help one another.
Blessings,
Carrie

Thanks for the welcome! Actually I had a typo in my first post.. OOPS! That is should be 2 sets of triplets. The first son is 11. So the children are DD 18, DD 16, DS 11, DD 10, DD 10, DS 10 and then DD 3, DD 3 and DD 3.
