Post by spidermansmum » Tue Jul 06, 2010 11:46 am

My older son has an autistic spectrum disorder-aspergers side of the spectrum. He struggles with is sequencing-so for years we have tried lots of ways to teach him the days of the week.It must be so hard to wake up each day and not know what day it is.For years Im sure he thought we picked which day it was :( .The last couple of weeks we have been doing LHTH week J-J-Joyfully and my older son is sitting in with the youngers sons 'school time'.The song J-J-Joyfully in LHTH has actions for the days of the week-and my older son has learnt the days of the week this week :D :D :D :D .So thankyou Carrie. It was an unexpected bonus and a really big step forward for my boy

That is so wonderful. I'm rejoicing with you. It is so great when they finally get something that has been a struggle for them. This is something to be excited about :D

Oh, praise the Lord, that's exciting! :D That is how our dc learned their days of the week as well. It's a catchy way to do it! :D You can be so proud of him.

What an accomplishment and what an exciting moment for your family. :D The Lord is so gracious and through this fun song he touched your sons memory and understanding. What a blessing. My kids have absolutely loved this Finger-play this one on J was a sticky one that my ds of 7 remembers from when he did LHTH when he was 4. :D
