I think using LHFHG half speed is a great idea. In fact, I'm plotting as I look to 2013... okay, I don't know if it's crazy to plan that far ahead (in other words, yes, it probably is), but I'm thinking about having my son (who will be almost 7) and my daughter (who will have just turned 4) do the left side half speed for two years, and the right side as appropriate for their respective abilities when we get to that point.

This is a great thread, full of good discussion and ideas! :D It's wonderful to know that you will have many options with HOD as your kiddos grow and change. As long as your kiddos are close enough in age to combine well, it's wonderful to work in that direction. We highly encourage you to do so! It's also good to know that as you go, you can easily shift a younger child down a guide if the need presents itself to find a better fit, and then allow the older one to blaze ahead if needed. :D Or, you can slow down a guide for a younger child and still allow the older to continue on, eventually out-distancing the younger child and spreading out the guides you're teaching. So, plan away but know that there are options if needed as your kiddos grow and change. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
