We are required to test . I was wondering how well the children test for science and history if using HOD? I am not concerned about math and LA as they are doing very well on that. Here before 5th or 6th grade they test on American history/government and after on world history. My kids are not there yet but I am looking ahead
Also , is there any chemistry in 7th &8th or do I need to cover that separately ?
Do any of you supplement the science part in HOD or is it complete as it is? I do not mean extra books your dc read for pleasure but an extra curriculum and if so , what do you use ?
I haven't done any testing yet (PA requires it in 3rd grade), but I would think that if they test the youngers in American history that's what HOD focuses on in some of the younger guides. Then the upper guides go through world history. So it seems as though the order fits with your testing for history.
Maybe if you mention your state a mom in your state can help answer your question from experience.

There have been quite a few past threads on the board about standardized testing, if you get a chance to search for it through the search feature. We are required to test yearly and our kiddos do very well. We use the Iowa Basics Skills tests.
