R&S English

Post by tinkhs » Sat May 22, 2010 6:57 pm

I am a little concerned. R&S English is used for Bigger, but it's not used in Beyond. Is there a reason for this? Will my child be prepared? I have heard R&S grammar is rigorous.

Blessings!

It is R&S Grammar 2 that is started in Bigger, which is gently introduced.

Also, the fifth day of each unit's plans in Beyond is a grammar lesson. The basic parts of speech are introduced this way, which helped our dc be totally prepared to start R & S English 2, which is gentle to begin with anyway. :D

Wow, this is great. My dd hasn't had any formal grammar yet (obviously). I don't want to wait until 3rd or 4th like some CM programs suggest, but I don't want to shove it down her throat too soon either. I noticed the grammar is very CM in Beyond, but I'm also glad to know it is meant to prepare for Rod and Staff grammar, which I've always planned on using sometime in the future. Now I don't have to plan for it; it's happening in Bigger. :)
