We used CLE LA this year and it got sort of boring. It's a really good program, but it was too much workbook, because we use their reading program. So we are on Adjectives in R&S Grammar 2 for the sole purpose that we didn't cover them in CLE. If we don't finish the rest of R&S 2, will we be okay to start R&S English 3 in Preparing? I'm skipping things in R&S that we've already done in CLE, so I'd have to look and see what else we've covered in CLE that we haven't in R&S and at this moment it's adjectives.
Is there anything after Adjectives in R&S 2 that we "definitely" can't miss that we'll need to know before starting English 3? CLE was spiral so it's all over the place. And I know that R&S is mastery, but I'm not sure what will be reviewed in 3 that we'll be okay with that we didn't hit on in 2, because there's enough info in 3 to pick it up. Does that make sense?
We've done some writing (from BJU), nouns, singular/plural nouns, verbs, pronouns, alphabetizing, the(e)/the, an/a, sentence, phrase... and now we're working on adjectives. Will we be lost in English 3?
If we're behind on R&S 2...

Re: If we're behind on R&S 2...
I know lots of moms that never do R&S 2 and just pick it up at 3. I think that would be fine, IMO.

Re: If we're behind on R&S 2...
I wouldn't want to come into R & S 4 without a quite complete thorough beginning study of grammar, but coming into R & S 3 is a different story. I think that you'd be just fine coming into R & S 3 because you have done grammar, albeit not exactly all of the same concepts R & S 2 has done, but still, an introduction to grammar.
I'd just call it good and start with R & S 3 then!
I think your sweetie will do fine.

I agree that English 3 would be a great place to start!
It sounds like you've had enough coverage through BJU and CLE to move past Rod and Staff English 2.
Blessings,
Carrie

Good! It's depressing when the year begins and we're already behind.
Thanks.
