Emerging Readers vs. DITHOR
Emerging Readers vs. DITHOR
I know I'll have to make this decision based on the individual child, but just to help me.... will most children be ready for the first level of DITHOR when they complete the Emerging Readers?
Re: Emerging Readers vs. DITHOR
That's what Carrie wrote me when i asked that same question, recently.

It was a long night with the baby... so forgive me... what was what she wrote you?
Re: Emerging Readers vs. DITHOR
Yes, you can/should role into DITHOR when you finish the Emerging Reader. Remember that you can do much of the work orally with your child, the key is to pick books that are the right level for her, which can be as easy as selecting a bookpack.

Re: Emerging Readers vs. DITHOR
Ditto to what deltagirl said here!
You may have to ease into the writing portion of the Student Book, but if our dc are reading the Emerging Reader's Set's books well, and answering the comprehension questions for them well, they will be ready for DITHOR 2/3. We eased into the writing by first having me write his answers, then having me write them on a markerboard which he copied them from, and finally having him write them. Worked great!
DITHOR is a fantastic way to teach reading. We've loved it.
