I'm Darci, I'm 35 (until tomorrow, when I'll be 36! ) I've been married to Lester for 14 years. We have six boys: Jake is 13 (14 on sunday) Jesse is 12, Jamie is 9, Ben is 7, Greyson is 4 and Gabe is just shy of 2.
We've homeschooled since Jake was in 2nd grade, and Jesse was starting kindy, so this is our 7th year. I'm looking at high school next year for Jake and it's making me crazy! I tend to think too much!
I've always lived in Iowa; dh is from Arizona/California and moved here with his family and met me, and so here he stays! He likes it almost always; the exception being the winters!

Rhonda, I thought I was going to be the oldest. You beat me!
I'm 41 (will be 42 on the 30th). I've been married to my wonderful hubby for 6 years. My first husband, also extremely wonderful, died of leukemia almost 10 years ago. Thus, the age span between my kids.
I worked as a computer programmer until Rod (my current dh) and I got married and he decided that, if I wanted, I deserved a break. I'm taking an extended break now that we decided to homeschool our 5 year old.
I grew up in the great state of South Dakota (I still miss the great sunsets from our front yard) and moved to Minnesota for college and stayed here with my job after college. Rod is a service engineer for a big printing company and thus travels - alot - fixing and installing machines.
Our kids are Megan - 18, Jenn - 13, Andy - 5, and Callie - 18 months. We wanted more, but pregnacies got too risky for me and the baby so have stopped having our own, but I wouldn't mind adopting a few. I like having noise in the house! I just have to convince my hubby that we are not too old for the middle of the night wake up calls.

Ok immature here but old, 44 husband just turned 50. Did not get married until 34, was kind of a career chick. Married now almost 10 years. Only marriage for both of us. Have six kids. We decided to adopt when we were engaged and by our second year anniversary we had four kids ages 4 to 1 year.
My husband grew up actually in So Dakota in a Christian family and he loves, loves, So Dakota! I became a believer at age 25 from a very unbelieving family but now have one new believer, my brother, so that is a blessing. My kids are growing up dramatically different than I did. Some of them of course started out in a very different and hard way but all of them down to my three year old, know The Lord. And that is a tremendous blessing! He is good!
What else...my kids are amazing, wonderful blessings from God and I have taught them to say of me, "Mommy, you're the best mommy in the whole world, the daw gawn cutest, and the bestest teacher!" No kidding they do say it to me...ahhhh it feels good! I believe strongly that we are called to homeschool and that other Christian families are as well to make a tremendous difference in the Kingdom of God! I believe that my kids have very important missions from God and callings to fulfill. I am excited to see other families that know this is the most important thing we do in life, raising kids to know and love The Lord!

Hi, I'm Melissa. I'm about to turn 31 (April).
I've been married to my hubby, Jason, for almost 11 years. We have, don't laugh, 5 children (so far ) ages 9 1/2, almost 8, almost 5, 3, and 13months. Four wonderful boys in a row and than a sweet baby girl. I've been homeschooling for 3 years. I'm a new HODie. We are very proud to be called "Mainers"!

I am 36 years old.
I've been married 13 years (as of April 15). My dh is a communication salesman (mainly to telephone companies). He also is a pheasant hunting guide.
I have 3 sons that are 8yo, 5yo, and 1 yo. I also live in a 100+ year old house on about 3 acres out in the country. (Melanie - we have yet another thing in common!)
I taught public school for 7 years before starting to homeschool our first son for preschool. I've been homeschooling ever since!

I am 38 turning 39 this month, my hubby is 41. We've been married 10 years.
We have two kids ages 7 and 5. Would love another child but have not been blessed that way. Still hoping and considering starting the adoption process.
We have homeschooled from the beginning which of course is not too long.
Grew up on a strawberry farm, we had other crops too and also raised beef cattle. Currently living in a old farmhouse of unknown age. The stone basement and stone chimney were built in 1885, rumour has it, the house burned down in 1923 and was rebuilt in 1924, but there are no pictures or anything to prove it. Wishing we had insulation in the walls, but we like our older home.

Ok, here goes:
I hope I do not BORE you!
My name is Mary, I am 39 years old. (I'll be 40 this year too Carrie, but not till Nov) I am married to Scott who is my best friend. We have been married 20 years and together we have 4 sons.
My husband has worked for the Sheriff's office for 20 years. He started in corrections and did fingerprinting/booking for years and 7 years ago switched to a specialized department and now does Transportation. He travels all over the state of Florida in a van and occassionally their plane. (I hate it, it's very tiny)
I was an LPN before coming home to homeschool and loved working in geriatrics.
My children:
16 year old son, is a "Bert" my relational one. This child doesn't really have any passions, except that he loves to be around others and make them laugh. I have no idea what the Lord is going to do with his life. So I just close my eyes, pray and follow the Lamb wherever He says to go, trusting HIM for this precious child of mine. I know whatever the Lord calls Him to do, it will probably have to do with serving others.
11 year old son has processing issue's and is very much an "Oliver". This child is such an answer to prayer. His LD's were very significant. We had done Speech therapy at All Children's and another program called Neurodevelopmental therapy. All of a sudden this year he has just taken off. He is reading, writing, doing math. He has found a passion for Art and Piano. He still doesn't do well processing anything auditory, but his strengths far outweigh his weaknesses.
I have a 7 year old son who is a "Bert". He is my quieter snuggle bug and loves his Mama. He is not overly talkative and can be a little "bossy" with his brothers, but his seriousness is the cutest thing. He is LOVING Beyond.
My baby is 5 and has mild autism. I LOVE homeschooling this child. He is THRIVING with Little "hands". I love to listen to him go around saying his fingerplays, I love how he carries his bible everywhere with him. He's too young to know if he is a "Bert or Oliver", but if I had to guess I would say he is a "Bert"?

Mama Mary,
As I read your post I was surprised by how much we have in common!! My hubby also is a police officer (and my best friend ), I also worked as a LPN and I LOVE working with geriatic patients!!!! That is the only thing I miss about working!! But I am finding some ministry opportunities in this area.

My name is Karen I will be 34 at the end of March. I am married to my best friend Derek who is 27. We have been married for 7.5 years.
Derek was born in PA and moved to MN when he was 6. I was born and raised in MN. We both love living here. We meet while Derek was going to college in Winona, MN and we moved to the Twin Cities when he graduated. We are living in our 3 location since being married and plan to stay in this house until we are ready to build a one level house to retire in.
We have 3 wonderful boys. Bryce just turned 5 and is loving LHFHG. Micah who will be 3 at the end of March, loves to do school like his big brother. So we are just starting LHTH about twice a week. Matthew who is 10 months and the most content of all my boys. He is currrently trying to figure out how to crawl.
I have wanted to homeschool since before the boys were born. We did send Bryce to preschool for half a year. Everyone was telling me that he need the social interactions. He has autistic tendencies and has been in Occupational Therapy since 8 months old for sensory issues. He is also currently in Speach Therapy. He is doing wonderful. At this point he has no confirmed labels which is just fine with us, we just want to continue to challenge him.

I'll be 45 next month! My husband and I have been married for 16 years.
My oldest, Kate, is 14 and doing 9th grade. She has been homeschooled since 2nd grade. She is a voracious reader; enjoys history, science, etc.; and barely tolerates math! She thinks that she wants to finish high school at Christian or Public school, but has agreed to do 10th grade at home before making her decision.
Luke is almost 10, in 4th grade. He'll be using Preparing next year. He does well with Math, History, Science & the grammar portion of English. He does not enjoy writing and would not dream of picking up a book to read without being told. I'm hoping that DITHR will help.

That is too weird?! I love it. Cyber makes our world seem so small, doesn't it? Too bad you don't live closer, we'd make good "real life" friends. (warm smile)
I miss my patients so much, but the Lord closed one door and opened another. I LOVE HOMESCHOOLING!!! LOVE IT

I'm Amanda - I just turned 30 in December (ahh, traumatic:-). My husband is 8 years older than I am and we own a warehousing/distribution company. We have 3 children - Susannah is 11 1/2, Killian (boy) is 7, and Katrielle is 4 1/2. Susannah was in a local classical Christian school for K-3rd grade, but we have homeschooled the last 3 years and just love it.
Let's see - what else? Oh, we live in central NC, where I was born and raised, and would LOVE to move somewhere else (seriously considering Montana) in the next few years.
Pre-kid, I was a sign language interpreter, and still do that some in church and such.
Nice to "meet" you guys!
