Math Question

Post by 2littlemisses »

We will be using Singapore 1A & 1B for first grade in the fall. Are those workbooks in color like the Earlybird ones? :) When I go online to look at samples they are black and white. :(
Thanks!

The workbooks may not be colorful any more (past K)...but Carrie's activities are! :D

While I used to be a fan of the colorful, I've found that it most definitely does not affect whether my kids learn from and enjoy a book. Singapore with the activities in the HOD guides are working extremely well for us, and we LOVE it! If I were you I'd give it a try.

When I first did the switch to Singapore for my dd, I was a bit nervous that she wouldn't like it b/c it wasn't in color (previous to Singapore the only math she liked to do was Disney Princess math books...) but she never said a word about it and really likes to do her math pages. The textbooks are in color, and although I purchased them from 1a and up, we didn't use them until 3a.

My ds did not care at all that there was no color, but I noticed that they need to color things all the times and a friend of mine her daughter uses different coloring pencils and her son and mine just use the pencil. So if your dc likes to color, you can always have a set of coloring pencils ready for her to color with.
Carrie's hands on activities will make it so that your dc hopefully will not even mention that it's not colorful....

Thank you ladies. :D DD6 loves to color and that will be what we will do. The Earlybird books are so fun and there will be some disappointment but we will manage.
