I just ordered LHTH and LHFHG. Are there any supplies I need to pick up? Note cards and such is what I'm thinking of.
Thanks,
Laura

Re: Anything else?
Lots and lots of masking tape...and then some more
LOL. A couple rolls of masking tape or that blue painters tape is needed for making the giant letters for LHTH. That is the only thing that pops in my head at this point...but my head is rather tired.

Hmmmm, plain paper, construction paper, index cards, markers, glue, paint, etc. Basically your standard art supplies. Oh, and raisins or such for Math counters. Enjoy!

Re: Anything else?
Did you also order one of the phonics programs or are you using your own? If you ordered RME, I would suggest buying one of those primary journals from Walmart. We began using one of those about halfway through the program, I wish we had used it all the way through!
For LHFHG, you may want to make sure you have food coloring drops, glue, plenty of paper, yarn or ribbon, dry beans, cereal (Cheerios), stamps or small stickers (for math activities), a balance scale (once again for math, you'll use it again in upcoming years), and if you want to make a notebook of dc's work than you may want to get a binder and sheet protectors. If you keep a well stocked craft closet you should have everything you need or suitable substitutions. Oh, yeah, one more thing fresh yeast! That's right yeast, you'll make bread in one unit!
You're going to have a blast!!

Re: Anything else?
Thank you everyone! Painters tape won't be too hard to find since my dh manages the local Sherwin Williams.

Re: Anything else?
That's just too convenient dh works there!
When you get the guides, take a minute to peruse the "Introduction" as that is always super helpful to me when getting ready for a year. Most supplies you should have on hand of you have an average art cabinet and kitchen.
You have some fun days ahead of you - be sure to share your box day with us!
