Exciting news for our 2010-11 school year...

Post by sharonb » Tue Feb 23, 2010 9:16 pm

I just found out a couple of days ago that baby #6 is on the way, due in early November! We are starting Bigger in mid-May (we school year-round, 4 days a week), and probably starting LHFHG pretty soon half-speed for the 5-year-old. So, we'll be able to get lots done before the baby comes. I wasn't using HOD when my last baby was born, but I imagine that it's pretty easy to use with a new baby around- just get whatever boxes done that we can, and then do a few more the next day, and so on, until we can get back up to speed. Because of how close my due date is to Thanksgiving and Christmas, I think it will probably take us until January to really get back up to speed, but that's okay. That's why we school year-round!

Anyway, just wanted to share my good news! And if anyone wants to share using-HOD-with-a-new-baby-in-the-house testimonials, that'd be great!

What great news!!! I can't share firsthand any experiences using HOD when a new baby arrives (my oldest was 3.5 last time I had a baby), but I imagine that it will be a smooth transition!! I will find out soon enough. :-)

Congratulations! I didn't use HOD with a brand new baby, but she was about 2 months old when we started and it went really, really well.

Congratulations! :D I'm praying for all of the moms on the HOD board that are expecting - there are a bunch! Instead of "there's something in the water", maybe it's "there's something in the HOD board". I'll put your fears to rest - doing HOD with a newborn baby is not difficult. In fact, the 2 times I've had newborns and been doing HOD, HOD was one of the easiest things to get done in my life. Now exercise, sleep, cooking, cleaning - those were the toughies. But not for long. If you can just give yourself some grace and allow yourself some time to ease back into things, you'll do super. I'm so happy for you and praying for a healthy, happy 9 months. :)

In Christ,
Julie

Babies are such a blessing! How exciting!

God will give you strength to accomplish what is truly needed, even if you don't get everything "checked off your list."
