I need a reminder on upcoming Apologia?

Post by 3musketeers » Wed Jan 27, 2010 2:23 pm

My dss have an opportunity to join a once a week science class next year that will be doing elementary Apologia Zoology 2 marine animals. My thought was to let them do the class once a week and continue with HOD science the other 4 days. Just in the considering process.

I know Carrie is using the Zoology 3 in CTC. Does anyone know if she will use any other Apologia in later guides? I love HOD science and don't want to do something now that we will be doing in HOD later.

Thanks,
Cindy

Cindy,

Right now our plans include Zoo. 3 in CTC and Apologia Astronomy in RTR. Our tentative plans don't include any of the other Elementary Apologia books, however there is supposedly a Chemistry book coming that we will defnitely be looking over as one possible future option. :D

I'm sorry I can't be more firm, but the search for living science material can be one that takes twists and turns as we get to the next guide in line. We will be covering physical science in the guide after RTR and will be covering some form of chemistry/physics/creation vs. evolution in the last guide in the sequence. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Carrie,

What do you have in mind for the physical science resource for use with the guide after RtR?

Carrie,

As always, I so appreciate you. Thank you for the look ahead. It looks like dss will be able to take the Zoology 2 class (once a week) with there regular HOD Preparing science. Then they will be set for Zoology 3 in CTC the next year.

I love to read your peeks into upcoming guides. I knew you had included science plans in recent posts. My very non- computer savvy self :D could not find all of them in the search. Thank you for the reminder. Your choices are always excellent, and we don't want to miss out on any part of it. :D

Blessings,
Cindy

Cindy,

Thanks for being so gracious! I wish I could say I had every part of the upcoming guides planned, but each one takes a path that only the Lord can lead us down as pray over each guide during its writing.

Here's a link to a the science thread that you may be mentioning. Link: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2507

Take the listings with a grain of salt, as you can see we changed some from our original possibilities for earth science. As far as the physical science year goes though, we did really enjoy using Exploration Education with our oldest son and like it very much for a physical science option. It doesn't fit the CM philosophy so well, as it's more lab-like and not heavy on living reading material. We are thinking to add biographies of inventors to it as one possibility of adding that dimension. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
